David Garcia's Critique: HW 1


    Although this article discusses some points in design that are agreeable, it gets sidetracked. At the beginning, it converses about the new street signs in London, and then it directs the issue to major companies (car corporations , fast-food restaurants, chair companies, etc.). Of course the topic wasn't supposed to be just about the designs of the signals, it was about how people could make flaws in design. However the way Alice started this treatise made it seem like was proceeding with that subject. Though this side tracking does explain why Alice's review manifests a rant. She makes it seem that her opinion is everyone else's opinion. Sure she give few examples from other articles, but it's clear as day that it's based on her dislikes rather than popular opinion. The title should have been changed so it would be less misleading.

                                                              Godzilla 2000 Wallpaper                                                             This poster some high grossing aspects that has me going back and looking at it. Not only the art is beautiful but it knows what it's focus is while manages to make thing subtle. The poster focuses on Godzilla as it's supposed to, but if you look closely at the background, you can see another monster's face looming above him which I originally thought was just smoke because of the colors it uses. However this isn't necessarily a bad thing because it makes me feel satisfied finding such a discovery which makes the art itself even better.

        For this group project I'm working with Danielle and Nyasia. Each posters look great when first looking at them. They each set up a tone and make you wonder at the same time. Danielle's posters has an action vibe to it while setting up an ominous mood. It also shows the gist of the plot without spoiling anything. Nyasia's...But unfortunately these posters are not without their downsides.         The poster is almost flawless until you read the title, "Battle of the Gem". It sounds like everyone is battling on the gem like it's a planet rather than for it. But ignoring that I think it looks pleasing to the eye at first glance; with it's atmosphere and the ominous feeling when you see the villain in the background. It's just that the title is confusing. This poster looks very very cheesey and that's what's good about it. It has a "Ned: School Survival Guide" feeling to it which is nostalgic for me. It also doesn't

Passion of Work

    The person in the documentary discussed a lot about discovering ones passion and love. One could think they like one thing but love and excel at another thing in the future. Like him and his work on chairs, we would eventually see the ups and downs of what we make and do. Not everything can be made for everyone. Not every consumer can be satisfied in your practices, but what matters is that you do your best.
